Previous Bands Conducted: Hollingworth and Longdendale Brass Band 2002 - 2004
Peter is a professionally trained Musician who was originally an Army Bandsman with the Parachute Regiment. His main instrument is the Flute and he occasionally dabbles with the Saxophone and various other instruments including the Cornet and Baritone. In the early eighties he came out of the army and went to Salford University to study Harmony at Diploma level. He has studied under the likes' of David Loukes and Marge Simms. Peter has performed for many Pop Bands and has conducted Choirs in his spare time and has a proven track record in developing talent. His interest in Brass Bands comes from his eldest son Matthew who plays Trombone in the band. His eldest son Matthew introduced him to Hollingworth and Longdendale Brass Band back in 2002 and Peter set about re building the band from 5 players. Later on in 2005 Peter and his backroom staff set about forming Belle Vue Brass Band. The band is continuing to grow and the band has performed a number of prestigious engagements and is looking forward concerting and doing the occasional March contest in 2009
